Funded Companies

The Carclew Board is responsible for an annual funding program which supports the development of young artists and audiences by funding the operations of South Australian youth arts companies that work with, or for, children and young people. Companies currently funded through Carclew include:

Patch Theatre Company
Patch Theatre Company has a diverse repertoire of acclaimed, tour-ready productions for 4-8 year olds and their families. The company is based in Adelaide and has presented over 100 new productions to more than 1.8 million children and their families since it began in 1972.

Cirkidz: SA Circus Centre
Cirkidz celebrates difference, identity and diversity through circus skills training, in a fun and friendly environment. Cirkidz was founded in 1986 by artists Tony Hannan and Michael Lester, to provide meaningful recreation and community engagement opportunities for disadvantaged youth in Adelaide’s industrial inner west. Tony and Michael believed circus skills training would enhance the young people's social, physical and creative development.
