With the increasing popularity of technology based entertainment and creative pursuits for young people, the art of social engagement and face-to-face conversation is being threatened. P/INCH aims to revive the languishing skills of social interaction through pairing digital technology with the well-known visual arts genre of portraiture.

Through this ten-week program of workshops, participants will explore the underlying themes of cultural mapping, citizenship, identity, sense of place, conversation and interview techniques, and cross-generational interactions.

Participants will develop digital photography skills, each creating five portraits to be showcased at an open access and free exhibition that celebrates the young participants as active citizens, central to the cultural and artistic fabric of our communities.

Suitable for participants aged 12-15 years in Adelaide's southern suburbs.
