Carclew continues to offer professional learning workshops for South Australian teachers. Over the past few years, workshops for teachers have had a visual arts focus, but if your school is interested in other art forms we would be happy to work with you, and a suitably experienced teaching artist to find a solution that meets your needs.
Carclew staff understand the growing need for teachers to build their skills and knowledge in the Arts as the Australian Curriculum: The Arts is implemented. Carclew works with many highly-skilled and experienced artists, across all artforms and would love to talk to schools about how we can support teachers in the classroom.
Power Drawing, is designed to bring the art of drawing into every classroom and to assist educators enhance their teaching in a very practical way.
Carclew's artists have worked with a number of staff groups to develop drawing skills and empower teachers with new and creative ways to engage students through drawing, at both primary and secondary level. The many drawing exercises the artists utilise, when working with staff groups are both relevant and enjoyable.
'Teachers are often artists too. Their engagement in arts and cultural practices can provide a wide range of arts and learning opportunities for their students."'

This has been so valuable for all of us. We are thinking of projects we can use the techniques for already. Thank you so much.

Thank you for the wonderful workshop...James and John were inspirational and we all had a really great time. They were so well prepared, dynamic and friendly to work with. I had people from a range of backgrounds and everyone was motivated and engaged. What an amazing duo.
