First AYPAA Newsletter

The first newsletter of the Australian Youth Performing Arts Association, or AYPAA, was issued before the organisation was formed! It was titled ‘Proposed Youth and Children’s Theatre Association of Australia – Newsletter No. 1, December 1973/January 1974’. In a cheery and welcoming editorial, Margaret Leask started a regular national dialogue that would continue for the next 37 years through the AYPAA newsletter and then Lowdown.
