Manager, Brand, Marketing and Communications
Full-time | ASO8

Carclew is the home of youth arts and creativity. It connects all children and young people to a world of creative possibilities, as artists, learners and audiences. As Australia’s largest multi-artform cultural institution dedicated to children and young people, Carclew is a vital part of Australia’s youth arts and arts sector.

Carclew, with a more than 50-year legacy, works to amplify and elevate the youth arts sector across Adelaide, South Australia and nationally.

We are seeking an accomplished brand, marketing and communications leader to shape Carclew’s public profile, deepen engagement with our programs and strengthen the partnerships and support that underpin our long-term ambitions.

Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Partnerships, this role provides strategic leadership across brand, marketing and communications. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation, advise the Chief Executive and leadership team, and lead marketing and communications staff and manage external creative suppliers to deliver high-quality engagement and communication outcomes.

Your work will include:

  • Leading Carclew’s brand, marketing and communications strategy.
  • Creating campaigns that connect children, young people, families and artists with our programs, grants and events.
  • Building media relationships and guiding public communications, including sensitive issues.
  • Telling the stories behind our work to strengthen partnerships, fundraising and donor relationships.
  • Using audience insights, digital channels and CRM systems to understand our audiences and improve engagement.

About you

You’re a senior marketing, communications or brand professional with experience leading strategy, advising executives and delivering audience-focused campaigns. You combine strong judgement and excellent communication skills with the ability to translate organisational priorities into clear and compelling engagement.

You’ll understand the realities of a medium-sized arts organisation: close collaboration, finite resources and days when priorities shift. You know how to focus effort where it will have the greatest impact, support your colleagues and maintain high standards.

You’ll bring experience leading people and projects, managing competing demands, and providing trusted advice to senior leaders. Experience supporting fundraising, sponsorship or philanthropy activities, together with confidence using audience data, digital channels and CRM systems, will be highly regarded.

Your background may be in the arts, education, community or another sector. What matters is the expertise you bring and your commitment to ensuring children and young people have access to creative opportunities. Relevant qualifications or equivalent professional experience are welcome.

Working at Carclew

This is an opportunity to influence the direction of an organisation with a long history and a clear purpose. You’ll work alongside artists, producers and colleagues who care deeply about young people and the place of creativity in their lives.

A commitment to child-safe, culturally safe and inclusive practice is essential. The role requires a current Working with Children Check and driver’s licence, with some out-of-hours work and occasional regional or interstate travel.
