Yes!

Carclew is located on the city fringe at 11 Jeffcott Street, North Adelaide, on Kaurna Country.

There is limited on-site parking on the grounds of Carclew House that is available to hirers outside business hours. In addition, there is ample free on-street parking on the streets surrounding Carclew (Jeffcott St, Strangways Tce). It is important to take note of event parking restrictions when large events are being held at Adelaide Oval. Most often this will reduce the parking time to 2 hours. We recommend that you check the Adelaide City Council website for further information.

In most cases yes! Sometimes there may be an event held during the day and then another one booked for the evening. In this case the daytime Hirer’s will leave the building cleaned and ready for the next hirer.

Yes. You can book a combination of several indoor spaces. There are different hiring costs for each area. The House and Garden Hire Option allows you full access to all rooms and gardens. If you are holding an event that children and families will attend, it is worth considering the hire of the whole grounds, and speak with Carclew about arranging an arts activity to keep kids occupied.

Yes, with prior approval from Carclew and as long any entertainment offered is consistent with Carclew’s Noise Policy. Carclew can also provide suggestions for young artists and musicians..

Yes, however Carclew does not provide hirers with any Licenses or Insurance. If you are organising or hosting a party, function or event where alcohol will be sold, you may need to apply for a limited licence. Consumer and Business Services (CBS) is responsible for administering the Liquor Licensing Act 1997 in South Australia. Visit their site here to determine licensing requirements specific to your event. NOTE: All applications for a limited licence must be lodged with Consumer and Business Services at least 14 days before the event’s start date.

As Carclew is a heritage listed building there are some restrictions. Hirers cannot nail, screw or affix (tape, 3M, blu tack) materials to the floor or walls. However, Carclew has a hanging system in place in most rooms. Please discuss your options with our Front-of-house Coordinator. Carclew can also be beautifully transformed through lighting and other decorating options.

Yes, as long as it is a weighted Marquee – we do not allow spikes into our gardens.

Carclew is available for hire all year round, with some restrictions during school holiday periods and over the Christmas break.

During the working week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm, staff are busy working, however our Boardroom, Ballroom and Grounds are still available for hire. It is also possible to book events on weekday evenings.

At the weekend events can start at the best time for the Hirer but all events must be packed up, clean and locked up by 12:30pm.

Carclew hosts all types of events, including, birthday parties, wedding ceremonies and receptions, baby showers, cocktail parties, fundraisers, performances, breakfasts, ceremonies, exhibition openings and much more.

Yes. Carclew has a comprehensive recycling program in place in order to sort all recyclable and biodegradable materials. We require that all hirers honour this program, and penalties are in place for non-compliance.
