We’re offering a jam-packed program of creativity and adventure for ages 5-17, with workshops in visual art, drama, and music. Holiday Bands at Carclew – 4-Day Music Intensive for Teens!

Holiday Bands is back! A four day music intensive for young people where you join a band on a Monday and play a gig on Thursday night.
A sell-out program, Holiday Bands is the unofficial front door to Adelaide’s music scene for young people, connecting them with creative community, relevant skills and exciting all-ages opportunities to be part of an unforgettable music experience.
Whether you’re a budding guitarist, vocalist, drummer or just love making music, this four-day intensive is the ultimate way to meet like-minded teens, form a band, and take the stage.
Holiday Bands Night Mode is an after-hours, advanced version of Holiday Bands Day Mode for participants who’ve attended at least two Holiday Bands, are committed to their instrument and want to take being in a band further.
Night Mode participants are expected to have an intermediate skill level.

Times: 4:30 pm – 8:30pm Mon 28th- Weds 30th and 10am – 9pm Thurs 1st
Recording until 3pm, walking to and performing at The Gov (with regular Holiday Bands).

Holiday Bands
Holiday Bands is for young people who want to meet new people and write, jam and perform music.
It’s the front door to the Adelaide Music Scene where participants will join a band on Monday and play a gig in a venue on Thursday.
During the week, band members will:

- Join a focussed band and contribute to the Adelaide Music Scene
- Write an original song and prepare a quality live performance
- Record your original track
- Shoot live and press photos
- Screen print Holiday Bands Merch on an item of your choice
- Experience daily live performances from some of Adelaide’s best current original acts.
- Perform live at classic Adelaide live music venue
Who:
- 13 – 17 years old and loves music
- Keen to meet new people to write, jam, record and play live in a band
- Plays an instrument and has the ability to play a basic song
Day Mode Tickets
- 10 tickets for returning participants
- 10 tickets for first time participants

What age are the workshops suitable for?
Workshops are designed for young people aged between 5-17, with activities tailored to different age ranges. Please check eligibility criteria for certain activities.
Do young people need prior experience in the arts?
No prior experience is required! All skill levels are welcome, and our artist will guide our participants through each activity.
What should participants bring?
Participants should wear comfortable clothing, a water bottle, hat and bring snacks/lunch pending time and duration of the workshop. Specific details for your program will be on the Humanatix Booking Page.

Can I stay with my child?
Parents/Caregivers of children of school age are strongly encouraged to not stay during workshops and holiday events. This is in the best interests of the child/ group developmental learning and play. Carers and support staff of children and young adults are always welcome.
Children who are participating but not school ready may have an accompanying adult permitted, one per child only.
