Carclew’s popular School Holiday Activities are back at our stunning North Adelaide home! We’re offering a jam-packed program of creativity and adventure for ages 5-17, with workshops in visual art, drama, and music. Whether your child is a budding artist, or just looking to have some fun, there’s something for everyone.
We’re also excited to offer special music workshops for teens, where young musicians can explore and develop their talents in a creative, supportive environment.

July Holidays 2026
Holiday Bands
Holiday Bands is for young people who want to meet new people and write, jam and perform music.
It’s the front door to the Adelaide Music Scene where participants will join a band on Monday and play a gig in a venue on Thursday.
During the week, band members will:
- write new music with guidance from young people already active in the local and national music industries in Carclew jam rooms
- attend workshops about booking gigs, making merch and being a part of the scene
- do a demo recording of your original work in Carclew’s Stables Studio
- play a live gig for family and friends on the final night at killer Adelaide venue Jive!
The Holiday Bands program is running at Carclew Monday 6th July – Thursday 9th July 2026, with a live gig on Day 4.
When:

Who:
- 13 – 17 years old and loves music
- Keen to meet new people to write, jam, record and play live in a band
- Plays an instrument and has the ability to play a basic song

- 10 tickets for returning participants

What age are the workshops suitable for?
Workshops are designed for young people aged between 5-17, with activities tailored to different age ranges. Please check eligibility criteria for certain activities.
Do young people need prior experience in the arts?
No prior experience is required! All skill levels are welcome, and our artist will guide our participants through each activity.
What should participants bring?
Participants should wear comfortable clothing, a water bottle, hat and bring snacks/lunch pending time and duration of the workshop. Specific details for your program will be on the Humanatix Booking Page.
How do I register my young person?

What is the cost of the program?
The cost of each workshop varies, please refer to each session for accurate pricing and concessions
Can I stay with my child?
Parents/Caregivers of children of school age are strongly encouraged to not stay during workshops and holiday events. This is in the best interests of the child/ group developmental learning and play. Carers and support staff of children and young adults are always welcome.
Children who are participating but not school ready may have an accompanying adult permitted, one per child only.
