Amelia Walker has performed poetry at events, including the Big Day Out, the Melbourne Writers Festival, the 2008 World Poetry Festival (India) and the 2011 Arts 4 Human Rights Festival (London). Her work has featured on CDs and been broadcast on Triple J, ABC Radio, Radio Adelaide and numerous community stations as well as online.
Amelia has also published three books of poetry, games and worksheets for use in primary schools - ‘All You Need to Teach Poetry’ for ages 5-8, 8-10 & 10+ years (Macmillan 2010) as well as two collections suitable for use in high schools - ‘Fat Streets and Lots of Squares’ and ‘Just Your Everyday Apocalypse’.
Amelia has run writing workshops for numerous schools, festivals and community groups in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. She is a current PhD candidate at the University of South Australia. Her thesis is about poetry in everyday life.
