Carclew’s popular Holiday Camp is back at our stunning North Adelaide home! We’re offering a jam-packed program of creativity and adventure for ages 5-17, with workshops in dance, circus, visual arts, and music. Whether your child is a budding artist, dancer, an aspiring circus performer, or just looking to have some fun, there’s something for everyone.
We’re also excited to offer special music workshops for teens, where young musicians can explore and develop their talents in a creative, supportive environment.
Running from Monday, January 20th to Friday, January 24th, the camp features hands-on workshops led by top arts practitioners and exciting collaborations with renowned arts organisations, including Australian Dance Theatre and Lolly Jar Circus.
Additionally, our OSHC program will be available throughout December and January—check with your child’s school to see if they’d like to join our OSHC Holiday Camp.

Australian Dance Theatre

Australia’s oldest continuing contemporary dance company, Australian Dance Theatre, takes up residence at Carclew for a series of epic workshops.
ADT invites young people to explore movement and storytelling in workshops that will introduce them to the company’s game-changing creative processes and practices.
Carclew and ADT join forces to introduce deepen young people’s connection to dance on Kaurna Yerta. Open to all skill-levels and abilities, these workshops are designed to introduce participants to the company’s repertoire and history, while empowering them to explore movement, dance and performance technique.

Songwriter’s Picnic

Ready to take your lyrics to the next level? Come hang out at our place these holidays and join singer-songwriters George Alice & Alex Hosking and write a brand-new track with singer-songwriters just like you.
Whether you’ve got a notebook full of lyrics or you’re just starting to write your first song, this is your chance to vibe learn from the best in the business, swap ideas, and share your music in a super chill, no-pressure environment.
We’ll be jamming, writing new songs together, and recording some fresh tracks right here in the garden—how cool is that? Plus, we’re bringing all the picnic essentials, so you can kick back, snack, and soak up the creative energy.
Best of all, you’ll get to record your demo at the end of the day and take it home!

Band! Zine!! Shoot!!!

Want to break into the music scene? Come hang out at our place these holidays for a day of jamming, zine-making, and photography workshops.
It’s your chance to hang out with local young creatives, dive into hands-on sessions, and pick up skills to level up your music game – think of it as your ultimate jam session (without noise complaints from your neighbours!)
Whether you’re itching to jam in a band, create a killer zine, or snap epic band photos, dive into the workshop that excites you most:
Band Practice: Team up with Alex from Stormy Lou and My Cherie for some laid-back band jamming. You’ll get real-world tips, tricks, and plenty of insider knowledge. Plus, there will be an opportunity to hit the stage and practice your moves with an audience at the end of the day. Bring your own instrument, or use ours—we’ve got you covered.
Zine-making workshop: Dive into the art of zine-making with Lilith from Runt! Records. Learn how to design and make your own zines to showcase your unique style. Whether it’s album art, behind-the-scenes stories, or just showing off your vibe, a zine is the perfect way to connect with fans and stand out. Supplies? Sorted. But if you’ve got any photos or mags that fit your style, don’t be shy—bring them and make it your own!
Photography Masterclass: Learn from the best in the business in this hands-on photography workshop. From social media shots to killer promo material, local legend Evie Wonder will help you create standout visuals that truly reflect who you are as an artist. No camera experience? No problem! Evie will run through all the basics. We’ll have the equipment on hand, but if your camera is your sidekick, don’t leave it behind!
These workshops will have a special collaborative element with bands, photographers and zine makers coming together to contribute to each others work. Come hang out, make some cool stuff, and meet new people. And hey, these are skills you might find handy as you dive deeper into the music scene.

Lolly Jar is Circus is taking over the house! With juggling, tumbling and loads more – we’ve got it all to test your skills!
Lolly Jar Circus is the ONLY circus school in South Australia that is fully inclusive of children and young people with disabilities or at social risk, where the trainers are educated in disability and understand different learning styles and sensory needs and where the environment is accepting and not overwhelming. What age are the workshops suitable for?
Workshops are designed for young people aged between 5-17, with activities tailored to different age ranges. Please check eligibility criteria for certain activities.
Do young people need prior experience in the arts?
No prior experience is required! All skill levels are welcome, and our artist will guide our participants through each activity.
What should participants bring?
Participants should wear comfortable clothing, a water bottle, hat and bring snacks/lunch pending time and duration of the workshop. Specific details for your program will be on the Humanatix Booking Page.

Can I stay with my child?
Parents/Caregivers of children of school age are strongly encouraged to not stay during workshops and holiday events. This is in the best interests of the child/ group developmental learning and play. Carers and support staff of children and young adults are always welcome.
Children who are participating but not school ready may have an accompanying adult permitted, one per child only.
