Holiday Bands

Start a band on Monday. Play a gig by the end of the week.

Holiday Bands is one of Carclew’s most loved music programs, giving young musicians the chance to experience the excitement of being in a real band during the school holidays.

Across an intensive week, participants are placed into bands, write and rehearse music together, develop performance skills and finish the program with a live showcase in front of family, friends and the wider community. Along the way, they’ll build confidence, make new friends and become part of South Australia’s vibrant youth music scene.

For returning participants ready to take things further, Holiday Bands Night Mode offers an advanced pathway. Young musicians work alongside experienced South Australian artists to write and record original music, strengthen their musicianship and collaboration skills, and gain valuable insight into life as a working band.

Depending on the program, participants may also have opportunities to:

Perform live at a dedicated showcase event.
Record original music in a professional studio.
Receive professional band and live performance photography.
Create industry-ready promotional materials.
Connect with fellow musicians, mentors, venues and the broader Adelaide music community.
