Off the Couch

For Youth / History

In early November 2011, Off the Couch travelled to the Riverland to deliver Recording the Regions.

A satellite project of Carclew’s Off the Couch, Recording the Regions was a series of one day workshops which explored the art of song writing and recording. The workshops, facilitated by two professional South Australian musicians and a sound engineer, encouraged students to explore topics including song writing, MCing, beat making and recording.

Recording the Regions was an opportunity for young people in the Riverland to grasp the basic knowledge and skills for writing their own music and to understand the process of recording a demo.

Recording the Regions was held throughout the Riverland from 6 – 12 November 2011 and was an initiative of Carclew, supported by Country Arts SA and Riverland Youth Theatre.
