Stories Without Borders

For Youth

Small screens. Big stories.

Stories Without Borders was a 12-week program of workshops that aimed to build the capacity of newly arrived young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in story-telling, filmmaking and engaging with online platforms for publishing short films.

Participants created short films that promote multiculturalism by showcasing positive, personal stories about their lives, families, communities and schools.

In addition to supporting a positive sense of identity and belonging, the short films raised awareness in the wider community about the social and economic contributions that multicultural groups make to South Australia thereby enhancing intercultural understanding and countering racism and discrimination.
